Microsoft launches free accounting software

Microsoft today lauches Microsoft Office Accounting Express 2007 for small businesses and it is free. Microsoft also plans to include Office Accounting Express 2007 as part of Microsoft Office 2007 professional and ultimate releases. It is integrated with other Microsoft Office products.

I watched product demonstration. It has Outlook style and looks clean.

I initially thought Microsoft wants to lure small businesses outside USA but website says this software is designed for US based businesses. It raises a question who are ready to adopt and migrate in already competitive market of finanical softwares. It may put some pressure on Intuit. I guess good for small businesses.
